Colourful Day

I recently wrote about a trip to Pallant House Gallery and didn't get to show the photos I took of all the colourful artwork, fabric and furniture I got to see. It was a real feast for the eyes!

Here are some more of the photos I took on the day:

Fabric and furniture by Robin and Lucienne Day:

A balloon dress by Susie MacMurray:

"Distant Hills, Light on Dark and Dark through Light" by Ivon Hitchens:

"Cirque De Navacelles" by Leslie Marr:

Colourful Liverpool

A vist today to the Tate Gallery in Liverpool to see their exhibition on colour. Unfortunately no photos were allowed.

These were some great pieces, especially 'Eight paintings with eight colours' by Katharina Fritsch, pieces by Gerhard Richter, some of Damien Hirst's 'spot paintings' and 'Zobop' by Jim Lambie.

Crystal Worlds

Today I visited Swarovski's Crystal Worlds in Wattens, Austria.
One of the "rooms" featured a piece by Brian Eno called "55 million crystals" where a screen plays a constantly changing picture.
It was mesmerising to look at and I took lots of photos of it (and one of them using the negative setting on my camer) so here's a random selection for you to see- I have to make something inspired by this!

Yellow sculptural inspiration

On the way back from Arundel today after a few days working in the office on Bead magazine and on the way back we visited the Cass Sculpture Foundation in Goodwood.

It was a lovely place, well worth a visit and despite the rain I really enjoyed walking around the grounds and seeing all of the lovely sculptures in the natural spaces.

I especially loved Declination by Tony Cragg (perfect for my current yellow theme) and Eschaton by Paul Neagu- beads anyone?
